"I clearly remember being taken down to the local theatre by my school as an eight year old in Stockholm. The improvisational acting games unlocked a whole new path of kids play and confidence - and I dare say it changed my life forever. I arrived in New Zealand in 2001 to commence my Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts and I’m still here fifteen years on. I find that telling a story through theatre is an incredibly humbling experience. Live theatre is not only magical and educational but is also constantly interchangeable."

“My Aunt Gwen was a much-valued Judge’s associate who passed away a few years ago. Thankfully, she died very peacefully, sitting on her sofa in the late afternoon with a glass of port by her elbow. Gwen was the last aunt of my mother’s generation and I wanted to do something really special to honour her. I used to go and see plays with her in the hall next to St Andrews Church when I was in my twenties, but the hall has since been pulled down and replaced by a car park. She loved her drama so I thought that naming a theatre seat after her would be the perfect way to commemorate her life." Rosemary Powell
